Ralph Krooner
Ralph Albert Krooner (1888 - 1952), AKA "The Elephant Skin Man," was born in Montpelier, Vermont. He had a rare skin condition which made his feet, knees, hands and possibly other parts of his body very odd (as seen in the pictures). It is reported that his mother, when pregnant, was traumatized by a stampede of elephants that killed five men, and that's why he ended up looking that way. I don't think this is true.
